It's possible. But you should research how likely it actually is instead of just making up a number. That's something we could actually do here on earth and it would possibly give us the answer to the fermi paradox.

Doesn't really matter because whatever they find would exceed the life insurance payouts of the crew. Why wouldn't the WY beancounters choose the larger profit number? Easy enough to fake some logs that an accident happened and the body was unrecoverable. Doesn't matter if the crew is actually alive and moved to a testing lab where they will be killed to extract the valuable alien lifeform.

If we had the ability to even know whats even out there I think we would find that abiogenesis is surprisingly common but intelligence is the real rarity. We are just a big complicated chemical reaction after all and although we happen to be mobile sacks of wet meat we could as easily have evolved into a homogenous layer of fungus or a pattern of electricity or something.

In 2022 it was discovered that if you have liquid water and the right type of soup of organic molecules, then nucleotides can spontaneously form themselves into RNA strands by interacting with volcanic glass.
Of course there's other big parts of the puzzle still missing, such as where the nucleotides would come from, but it's still an indicator that abiogenesis is not as difficult or unlikely as OP says
