In my terms I would say more generally it's a system of symbols, which avoids the connotations. It must (or there must be some entity to) configure and process itself to form the wholeness of the universe, from axioms. e.g. how mathematics flows from the axioms defined for the system. The system itself must be coherent (non-contradictory) and so, from a limited set of axioms on an unfathomably complex reality, it requires an amount of self-configuration to produce consistency.
The other analogy in my system is the author writing a novel. The author does not describe every elemental particle, and may write what seems to be apparent contradictions from error or other, but the system internally must produce a coherent interpretation down to its specifics, and must therefore configure those specifics to fit the axiomatic definitions.
