Time travel happens all the time. Every time someone invents a time machine, future time police use it to kill the inventor's grandparents.
The practical result is that time travel appears to be impossible even though it is literally the most common thing in the entire Universe.

Going to the future is technically always happening all the time but to do that like in the movies it’s technically possible. All you need to do is approach the speed of light, or do a sling shot maneuver around a black hole. Going backwards in time may be impossible.
