"Please Excuse Aunt Sally, My Dear"
Why was this the very first thing my algebra teacher taught me? He unironically wrote PEASMD on the board and nobody said anything. It's been PEMDAS my entire life.

It really should just be PEA. Like remember to go PEA or something.

For me, it's SNEEDMASS
Subtraction Numbers Exponents Expnonets Math is ASS

>division is just iterated subtraction
>subtraction is just addition of inverses
>multiplication just iterated addition
>exponents is just iterated operations over whatever operation you want
>should be brackets instead of parentheses
>should be sum instead of addition
Therefore, official operations should be BS - Brackets and Sums.

addition is just "incrementing" a certain number of times. +1 is the only operation you need

True, but we can use BS for all numbers, not just the integers.

I confronted my algebra teacher about this today. I said "On the first day of class you said "Please excuse aunt sally my dear."

He immediately went "No, I would never say that. I said please excuse my dead aunt sally."

Then I said "You said addition and subtraction come before multiplication and division."

Him: Yes, that's correct.

Me: So that's please excuse aunt sally, my dear.

Him: No because you always go backwards when you blah blah blah. Actually, when you think about it PEMDAS is wrong!

Me: So how to do math changes depending on who's explaining it to you.

Him: No, they just don't know what they're talking about.

Notice he went from vehemently denying ever saying it to saying actually he was correct all along.

P.S. I failed a quiz today because I bought the T30-XIIS instead of the T30A, so I couldn't use it during the quiz.

I've encountered retarded public school teachers so I can almost believe this story, but I still have my doubts.
