I think popsci journalism might have killed most public interest, along with the lack of large breakthroughs. Like how many articles have there been in the last decade about how the latest xyz discovery could cure cancer. Millions? Still no actual cure though. It's like constantly crying wolf, no one gives a shit anymore

>cure cancer
thats not as important as some people seem to think it is. normal people don't expect or even want to live forever, only schizos do. sane rational people realize life is limited and they plan to grow up, get married, raise a family of their own, help their children accomplish the same and then pass on the next world all in about 70-90 years.
the only people who wish for extra time are those who can't accomplish life's basic goals in the time normally allotted.

You know children get cancer too. I can guarantee there will be life extending medicine to drastically increase human lifespan in the future too, possibly the far future. You can choose not to take it and die if you want while other people go on to enjoy all the world has to offer and learn huge amounts and progress humanity faster than ever before while still getting married and having children

Flying kites into storms is pretty fucking autistic. Like there was any doubt lightning was electric. Old Ben just wanted to shit explode (and maybe go back to the future).

He wasn't in doubt of that, he just wondered if he could actively attract it by attaching metal to the kite.

Some autistic men just want to see the world burn and flirt with French chicks at le salon.
My man was disassembling perfectly good spectacles and then mixing and matching them into bizarre chimeras he called "bifocals". Autistic af.

Because most of it these days is lies and propaganda instead of actual science.

God I love these autisticly confident and utterly unmoored from reality type sweeping statements about life that only 4chan can serve up.
You make this website special, friend. In more ways than one.

Thats a lot of people bro sometimes people have problems that they fix but it sets them back a few years, i think we are unironically evolving towards longer lifespans because what we have now isnt enough to deal with life

>what we have now isnt enough to deal with life
it isn't enough for you because you're genetically inferior, but for the people who do succeed in the normal amount of time of quicker it is enough time. lengthening the human lifespan will have dysgenic effects if doing so allows lesser individuals such as yourself more time to pass on their genes
