Problem is man will play favorites. Dogs and Cats will get uplifted then they will become the preferred ones to socialize with due to muh cat/dog girl sexualization and furbaby family shit.

You have to keep the law of unintended consequences in mind. Presently, large felines prey on elephants. Uplift elephants, and they will exterminate lions, panthers and other sources of pain. That will upset the environment big time.
