What is the definition of genius?
>Originally in Latin, "Genius" meant the attending spirit present at someone's birth, their innate ability or inclination; meaning that every person is born with a "Genius", an innate ability or inclination towards something.

A genius in Maths is someone who can go from A to E directly.
A normal logical person can go from A to B, then C, D, and E.
Someone good at maths can jump from A to C, then E.

Interestingly, "ingenuous" (as opposed to ingenious, or engineer) has the same origin, but captures a different aspect of the Latin root i.e. truthfulness to ones nature, or innocence. There are a bunch of examples where a Latin root has come to English in different forms to represent its different meanings.
