It's happening: AI started replacing knowledge workers
AI is not good enough to implement complex projects on its own. But it follows instructions and implements smaller tasks better than junior developers.

1 senior developer + 9 junior developers = 1 senior developer + AI

That's why big tech is firing EVERYONE.

Those "junior developers" must be brainless retard morons.

I call that bullshit, they are cheating using 1000+ agents. On top of that those problems are too idealized, too close to the beauty of Math, and far away from the ugliness of the human condition.

To the contrary: they are formulaic and predictable just like every benchmark """AI""" excels at, reflecting a sad reality about the human condition.

Old garbage. ARC-AGI has been solved. 80% accuracy has been achieved using GPT-5(high).

Amazon Turkers could only achieve ~60% accuracy.

They've moved on to ARC-AGI 2, where humans are currently still ahead.

As a developer I would agree. It's speed is astonishing and time saving. Quality is various, but it grows over time.

Oh yes, they are. Software Development today has little to do with Computer Science or even math. It's merely a basic logic and ability to plug lego blocks into each other.

It won't. Given nothing changes, seniors will become rare (due to natural decay lol) and the salaries will grow. This will motivate people to study programming longer: up to 10 years maybe, to become senior at start.

This table is only a year old, but is already very outdated (Kaggle ARC 2 just finished, by the way)

But ARC is also somewhat unnatural for LLMs -- 2D images encoded as ASCII text?

Actual computer code is where the money is, and it's also where LLMs are beating humans on the market.

Why should private businesses pay to educate the workforce? Let's say I (a tech company) pay $1M to train you for 10 years (by paying you $100K/year until you are useful). What's stopping you from moving to a new employer when your training is finished?

This is a theoretical discussion anyway, because AI will take over long before current senior devs all retire.

If AI can outmode people at 100IQ, there goes more than half of western populations.

Around 50% of western populations already take more in welfare than given in taxes, meaning half the population cannot currently sustain itself.

Eugenics was the kindest solution. Now nature will take it's course and cause the extermination of billions. Gotta love leftist harm-avoidance idiocy.

That's not what I'm personally seeing. It's more like they are not hiring new juniors and training all their exist devs on AI. Any that can't or refuse to learn are the ones being fired.

gaming is not where the money is at, its called the AI bubble, not the gaming bubble, big corporations dont have to innovate because they can simply acquire smaller companies, consumer wellbeing is not their objective, they simply want to make more money, nothing they do will take them under.
