I liked Hiroshi Abe on TRICK so I went looking for something else comedy related and decided to try Dragon Zakura. His character was too one-note but the show was generally enjoyable (mostly because Nagasawa Masami was very cute). Tried to watch the sequel but it was absolutely unbearable. Setting aside the fact that almost everyone on new drama can't act and looks like a deformed alien (Minami Sara was the only exception), is the story going to the shitter a manga problem or is it the drama not caring about the original material again? The only actually good live action manga adaptation I've come across was the Aoi Haru movie with everything else ranging from hot garbage (Kyou kara ore wa, could also be the case for Aoi Honoo due to the MCs terrible acting but the girls were cute and the theme was interesting enough to make it bearable) to "We don't care about the original but we're too incompetent to come up with an interesting setting and want the audience boost from a pre-existing title" (Arakawa under the bridge, kyou kara ore wa is also guilty of this). Quite the tangent, recc any good comedies if you want or something fun with Hiroshi where he doesn't play the exact same guy.
