I watch a lot of these kinds of channels who spend all their time helping animals because I genuinely find it moving. I'm a fag that way.
In that time I've gradually discovered there is a type of person - specifically an 'animal lover' - who spends insane amounts of time and energy shitting on and defaming anyone who has any success helping animals.
They constantly spout how the person making the video is actually abusive, or out of line, how they're a bad person etc.
Now, if they cite anything (rare) they'll cite tumblr, cesar milan tier pseud shit, or their own ass. Despite this a number of mouthbreathers will swarm around these people thanking them and praising them for "holding the bad people accountable".
This is where it becomes an issue.
The average "haha animals xD" person is extremely gullible and will gladly follow this sort of bullshit into no longer supporting groups like Save a Fox or even helping the schizos mass report their platforms or file complaints to the authorities.
So, tl;dr
>Person gets popular helping animals
>Terminally online spergs who 'like animals' but do fuck all about it get jealous of the person
>They slander and defame the person, sometimes trying to deplatform them or get them to lose licenses
>Average retards on the internet believe the spergs, so one person with a vendetta can quickly become dozens or hundreds
