funny that you are saying this, cos i literally bought a house in a village on the danubian coast 4 years ago lol
its actually pretty decent and one of the few where you can see lots of kids on the street and actual young families, that ive been to.
but yes, the region is in general a complete shithole, there isnt a big and wealthy regional city, unlike all those on the romanian coast that are all on an hour drive from Bucharest
Villages around Sofia are also all getting bigger and increasing in population
