Both types of printers can do the same job, it only really matters on tradeoffs, Details vs Durability, but there are PLA printers that are starting to show promise of fine quality, and there are resins that are tough and resistant now.

Since you mentioned doing face sculpts, your definitely going to want fine detail, that currently you can only get with resin. We already know that resin printers can do large dioramas seen on this post. >>11477489
