Lorcana, SWU, and One Piece are all doing rotation in the next 12 months and also to my knowledge all doing "block" based rotation, where a bunch of sets all exit play at once. So... why is that? Is it just easier for casual players to keep up with one big annual rotation instead of one set falling out every 3 months (when a new set drops)?
Another interesting facet of the three is the question "how relevant are the sets rotating out, anyways?" I don't know Lorcana or One Piece well enough to say. In SWU's case, there's a weird situation where sets 2/3 were largely underpowered leading to a situation where heading into set 5, set 1 cards are still like half of the meta. But my uneducated guess would be that One Piece features enough power creep that the oldest sets are basically irrelevant anyways, outside maybe a few LRs?
