Steam is much more full-featured. It doesn't help that one of those so-called competitors used to disparage the PC platform, and now feels that he should have a slice of the pie just because Steam is a monopoly, as if simply investing some money into a bargain bin storefront should earn you customers.

That would probably be an interesting discussion to have: once Gabe and co dies and Valve gets in the hand of beancounters, what shitty practice will they employ first?
I'm immediately thinking of:
1. More sponsored listing, much more.
2. Paid cloud savings and forum access (you get a free limit, but to unlock more sections and pages, you have to pay).
And finally:
3. Data monetization, which is fucking huge treasure trove for Valve.
