Some facts:

- Women rate most guys as below average in looks.
- The guys who receive the most messages in cumulative terms tend to be rated as below average in looks.
- The guys who receive the most messages, albeit rated below average in looks, might still be more attractive than the median male in terms of looks.
- The overall messaging distribution of women is more homogeneous than that of men, i.e. looks matter more to men than to women when it comes to messaging behaviour.
- Men rate women on a bell curve distribution; most women are rated average in looks.
- Men quite substantially focus their messaging on women they've rated above average in looks.

But at the end of the day, the graph doesn't tell you much. Men have always outnumbered women quite substantially on dating apps and websites, so they are less likely to match or receive messages by the distorted sex ratio alone. Also, messaging behaviour does not tell you much about how people end up matching. i.e. even though men substantially focus their messaging on the most attractive women, the majority of these men is not going to end up dating these women. Likewise, even though women message more homogeneously, who they end up dating is a different story.

tl;dr - dating apps are dying, so it's pointless to talk about them anyway.
