This is correct while there's an issue of Cinefantastique Magazine that goes into production problems during seasons one and two.
Things turned around once Roddenberry was sidelined due to illness where Rick Berman took over with an "open script" policy where unsolicited screenplays could be submitted and produced if chosen.
This is why there was a distinctive improvement with season 3 and onward while thank fuck they changed the uniforms and brought back Crusher after that horrible fucking bitch Pulanski who radiated hostility and unlikability and why they dropped her character down an elevator shaft in LA Law to get rid of the fucking bitch!
Anywho, ST:TNG peaked between seasons 3-4 while 5 should have been their last but everyone was greedy and wanted to keep things going even after they reached the amount of episodes needed for syndication at which point everyone stopped caring and just collected their paychecks.
We can at least be glad that All Good Things was a perfect sendoff while I was at the Toronto Skydom when they premiered it...

This is is why you notice a drop in quality during 5-6-7 and the same thing that happened with The X-Files which was supposed to finish at 5 seasons then do feature films but everyone stayed for more money and why it went right into the fucking shitter afterwards, dragging on until the 9th season!!!FACT!!!
