This post bothers me for several reasons. First off, that's way too long a tribute. The lyrical changes get lost in a sea of words. Second, I've never heard of that band, and it definitely doesn't get airtime on any radio station I've ever tuned into, so I don't believe it has mass appeal. The purpose of these casual examples is mass appeal.
To that point, I have to wonder who exactly this post is for. It seems to be a self-indulgent attack upon some anon you perceive as a troll, and not an actual counter-example to what a songpost should be. Next, whatever band that is, their lyrics seem way too complicated to be recycled into a songpost, but that I can forgive. What I can't forgive is you thinking I want to read through a song from YOUR favorite band. These (this?) "Ultramagnetic MCs (Master of Ceremonies's)" seem a bit esoteric for a *general* thread.
In addition, your whole "gotcha" is centered around the insult of "cretinously unfunny dink," which makes you seem like your nose is buried in a thesaurus. In an age in which most humans have a shorter attention span than goldfish (literally and scientifically), this wordplay is pointless. In this day of ChatGPT, it's downright insulting to all to be so opposite from concise. I could have easily thought of that insult if I was in the 19th century (perhaps minus "dink"), but my use of imageboard language has evolved past even thinking to use non-mass-appealing words. You're not impressing anyone; instead, you make most anons feel stupid.
But what pisses me off most of all is...(You) sort of have a point. These kinds of posts are ridiculous. Equally ridiculous is adding to the quasi-intellectual spam by replying to them. These kinds of posts are not meant to be smart. They're meant to be dumb fun, which take me all of five minutes to write and which I expect no one to appreciate. Thus, I should spend my time doing something better with my talents.
Yet...is your tl;dr supposed to impress me?
lolno, nope!
