as a zoomer, just play the original bro, original silent hill 1 on my ps3 (I know I probably missed on something by not playing on a CRT but whatever) convinced me forever that no matter what they put out there the remake/remaster will never be superior to the original when it comes to old games (for instance between persona 5 and royal just go with royal for more stuff even if some additions are questionable)
if it was a generic third person shooter UE5 game it woulnd't be a cult title and nobody would remember it, this is partially why I think it just doesn't make any sense to remake sh1

are you aware that the oldest zoomers are hitting 30 soon pretty much? that shit was totally fine btw, zero issues with it
old games have notoriously bad checkpoints and generally there are more gimmicky and annoying parts because they were still figuring that shit out during that time, and even then it's a complete experience even with the shortcomings that on my opinion just add more to the game (because they remind you that a bunch of real people made it)
you are talking about gen alpha, most zoomers experienced the ps1/ps2 from older brothers and parents
