We got along pretty well initially due to similar personalities and life stories. But over time I noticed that he embodies many character traits that I started to despise in myself, being the worst one the overindulgence in self-pity. Otherwise, he's a pretty chill and suportive guy, but my gut is telling that I'll not move away from my depressed loser phase and "man up" in life until I cut off all contact with him.
