Purple the straight sword you found at the starter camp that has "spell fp reduction" or whatever garbage passive. Raw purple damage is better than nothing. I just had a run where I couldn't find shit so I just +2'd the zweihander I found (stamp sweep + irrelevant passive) and it carried me up through the very end of day 2 where I finally found something better on the very last loot orb
