The brainwashing is such a weird thing to get so schizophrenic about when Hiruko IS a morally gray character, if not an outright villain who sabotages things for her own selfish desires. She's a character had just done so much shit excluding ONE thing and that's brainwashing the cast in S.F. because there was no personal, plot or narrative reason to do that. It's quite literally just Uchikoshisms that mindbroke mentally ill people and took as a chance to final own Hiruko.
And, in fact, I liked the SDU chant and thought it was cute and reminiscent of the chant in 1st scenario by Eito except it was genuine this time.
Actually, I loved how Uchikoshi didn't bother with the Kodakaisms of every character saying their one gag line in every scene, I'd even say it's a sign of good writing that he focused on what's currently happening and made every character say something insightful, otherwise they shut up.
Shizuhara Hiruko is the best character in HL and Uchikoshi is the only writer who cares, especially more than Kodaka who wanted a product to market rather than a
story to tell.
