Picrel, but its been a minute since I last read it so the details have slipped my mind. All I remember is Marlborough owed a great deal to James for his rise through the ranks (not that he wasn't an incredibly competent general, just that the British system at the time practically required a sovereigns beneficial hand) and that James's turn toward Catholocism was the nail in of the coffin of their relationship.
