I mean I feel like it's two separate issues, fossil fuel consumption causing pollution and plastic trash causing pollution are different things, even if private jets got banned globally that wouldn't reduce the amount of plastic in the oceans, and private jets consuming lots of fossil fuel doesn't mean that she was in the wrong for trying to reduce plastic waste going into the oceans
if we look at the two issues separately, fossil fuels could be causing climate change, although the science around that is debatable, but using fossil fuels within cities should be banned imo, they are just noisy, stinky, and health hazards, causing respiratory diseases like asthma and allergies, along with of course noise pollution that can also lead to hearing impairment and makes it harder to sleep at night, causing insomnia, just all around replacing fossil fuel engines with EVs in cities is a net positive, regardless of climate change, in that aspect private jets are largely irrelevant, if you think climate change is irrelevant and jets don't pollute in cities then they're whatever really
when it comes to plastic pollution it's a crisis that people will have to tackle at some point, there will come a time when everything is just filled with plastic trash, we're already getting there, and eventually bacteria will simply evolve to eat plastic, plastic isn't anything special, it's organic compounds, same as a treebark, or a pig's skin, or fish bones, they are just arranged in a specific way that doesn't occur in nature currently, so no bacteria evolved to eat it, but they are evolving now, people are finding puddles of bacteria that eat plastics in landfills, eventually they'll spread everywhere on the planet and make plastic useless, it'll be same as wrapping your stuff in leaves, they'll just rot (get eaten by bacteria), it's a problem where the solution will create an even bigger problem, the only reasonable solution is that we only use plastic when it's absolutely necessary,

>Even in "female-heavy" games like FFXIV and Genshin Impact, it's still like an 80/20 split.
Genshin is easily 50/50. If you only look at younger players (remove the over 40 gachanigger crowd) it's majority women.
