It's depressing, you can really tell when Oda doesn't care about a character, Burgess is doomed just like Jack
Meanwhile faggots like Ace and Sabo get their dicks sucked constantly
You can really tell with Shanks, he has nothing but love for this character, he's not a lot in the manga, but every time you see him he looks cool
Big Mom and Kaido look like chumps compared to him

I don't think anyone will really 'join' the crew anymore because this is literally the last saga and it'd be really fucking lopsided to start having to shove in screentime for a relatively new character we met within the past 2-3 arcs.

As a matter of fact, I don't think anyone that the Straw Hats (or at least Luffy) didn't know/meet prior to the timeskip should join the main crew, and as it stands that's held true even up to this point down to Jinbei. It makes zero logical sense to chuck random characters into the core cast at this juncture of the story just so we can pretend they were always there outside of baiting waifu wars and shit. Can you honestly say you would've enjoyed seeing multiple pages worth of Yamato going "SO THIS IS HOW ODEN DID IT..." for the past two arcs?
