the fucker who started growing rice by just throwing raw grains into dried out weeds while asian grandmas spent their entire lives bent in two over rice paddies broke me a few years ago. Then i started studying permaculture and i realized that we have no actual understanding of natural cycles because there is simply no funding in it. If it cannot be reliably repeated/scaled up, it doesn't exist. No money in it, no research, thus it's "Not real". It's like the entire industrialized world got tunnel vision, where scalable + mechanized = good, when in truth it all rests on cheap human labor filling all the gaps at once.
Worst of all, i was a biomed student and i realized that back then (2015) we didn't know what caused myopia even though it was known for over a century (eye strain in low light conditions).
This is functional medicine even exists, because a fucking PhD gastroenterologist cannot answer "what happens when there is positive gaseous pressure in the duodenum? " with any certainty. Personal experience. In fact he claimed it "cannot happen". Then in 2021 we found out that not only it is possible, but common too.
Clown world became long ago and only got worse.
It's not that science is bad or doesn't work, it's that humans just make gods out of every little thing around them, then immediately confirmation bias and build entire societies around it.
