After the power fantasy, Say, Lex Luthor comes to fight superman in his green power suit, he gets absolutely destroyed as you are fully powered, but he manages to inject Superman with a kryptonite producing virus that Superman can't really cure, and it quickly saps Superman's powers, Superman faints, he wakes up in fortress of solitude being cared for by Lois and his friends, I dunno, Professor Emil Hamilton tells superman he can create a cure, but it will take time, as you advance in the story/obtain xp to unclock skills, he sends you vials of the viral cure that unlock your superpowers
