If you go eat alone in a restaurant in Hong Kong or Mumbai as a westerner, where is your society? Is your society in the room with you, judging you? Even beyond that is your civilization even here?
It's also why migrants behave like shit in the West. Social judgement is contextual and only works within your society where there can be repercussions in yourlife (ie, You're a thief and therefore the shops in your town don't accept you anymore. You're a rapist and you're being shunned because you are a danger to interact with).
