I've got bad news: your pals aren't keeping it cool all the time and the food is decaying. Pals aren't supposed to take food out of the icebox by default. When it needs to be recooled the timers reset.

I know my pals take the cake straight from the oven to the breeding pen and that's on the other side of the base although I don't know if that's just when the farm is running or not.
