What do you recommend in 2025 for self-hosting? I can do linux or bsd but want to get into using dos someday again.

UEFI is overcomplicated to require as the only consumer-accessible option for system POST and boot.

I've used/had experience with mumble and retroshare, some jami, and some tox-network stuff. Never got into mastodon and noticed lots of folks went non-public-access on their federated instance servers some year or two back. I think some artists use it for posting/shilling commissioned /trash/ art also.
