I have 12 years of service as a random defense civvie (HQ, Intel, armement), I used to work with and for SOF, and even if I've seen most of them disgusted and bored with military life (so they all left), I kinda feel I missed the truer thing and they did not. At least they have cool stories to tell, I just have moronic administrative and political stuff regular people are legit disgusted about (because it cost them money for nothing). Now 40yo, i'm still thinking how much I'd like some minimal cool infantry practicing just in case. And larping because why not. But it's milk under the bridge now.
