Homestuck is a comic where all the main characters are fleshed out and enjoyable and there is certainly no jarring tonal shifts in the comic that make previously cartoony and light-hearted events now portrayed as serious due to the ineptitude of the author and playing to a different base of readers than the ones he had at the start.
