There are a TON of credible reports of russians being sent to fight with just a week or two of training, most of which consists of lectures with little to no practical training, aside from possibly learning how to load and fire a rifle.
There are also reports of people being sent off with no training at all, because they're supposed to be logistics guys, truck drivers, etc, but then they get deployed as infantry anyway.
