I got this a month ago and his thesis was the Enlightenment was basically a philosophy of comfort, in which someone like Alasdair McIntyre claimed was the error of modern ethics, being based around selfish notions of personal sentiment. Robertson sees this as a good thing, to which McIntyre (RIP and PBUH) would object.
