You just need some time to digest this, that’s all. Bad news never comes at an opportune time, you know this. And you have enough Courage to regulate your emotions.
“Bit of a softy, aren’t you? Nothing I didn’t get from subtext.” Jielun can’t tell what specifically went wrong with you. “That’s for the better, my fate is in someone who cares’ hands.”
“Sorry, it’s quite the mood killer. Isn’t it?” You apologize to the (former?) enemy. “I’m calling my friend over to get the collection. You don’t mind, right?”
“I’ll postpone my plans. With the countdown going down for the end of the season, I rather enjoy as much cinema as I can.” Jielun can’t shake off his mind about what’s going on. “Go ahead. I’ll talk to the staff. Half of them are here to protect that scroll. I advise you not to parade it around, for both of our sakes.”
“Ah, you mean the security twins? Err, Triplets?” You remember the gals in dark suits. You conceal the scroll within your clothes. If anyone wants to take a look, you’ll make it invisible.
“HaHa! The Moles are quintuplets. A family of bodyguards tasked to protect the scroll. Quirky bunch.” Despite all, Jielun is a good movie caterer. “Anyway, I’m wasting valuable seconds. Mine and yours.” He starts walking away.
“Before you go. Thanks for being not only being so cooperative, but informative, man.” You say respectfully. Jielun stops without turning back.
“Chef. This is the end of act one. No need for platitudes.” Jielun keeps on walking…
You give Craig a quick call to explain what’s going on. It devolved into a video call to show him the entire place to have a better idea of what kind of truck he should bring. All in all, an amusing call so far.
“Kid, you sound upset. Anything you wanna tell me?” Craig wonders.
“It’s just that cinema being in danger moves me to tears.” You joke.
“I don’t buy that crap, you ass. I’ll be there in a hot minute.” Craig laughs a little.
You finish the call, then tell the team about what’s going on. Not surprisingly, but they were watching, so there wasn’t much you had to say. You asked Jielun if you can bring extra hands to help move the stuff…
“How did we end up putting crap on a truck…? Wasn’t this a stealth mission…?” Vera grumbles at the general idiocy.
“I offered a helping hand but never thought it’d be like this… Or to help him. I’m only interested in Chef Noon!” Kushi is annoyed too, and shows her disdain for Jielun.
“Tell me about it, why am I working for my chef?” Ryom laments. Remember Ryom? He ended up distracting the leader of the Mole Security the entire time.
