they really aren't. they just don't dub anime like they used to. i noticed the same thing the other day watching Yu Yu Hakusho in English. it's like somebody ran all 15 of the American voice actors through seminars that taught them to deliver hollow, cartoony performances. maybe anime voice actors should've been kept separate from the pool dubbing Adventure Time and Steven Universe so they didn't pick up bad habits.
