Nintendo used to have consoles and handhelds. Now there is just one expensive machine. Just a couple years ago, you could buy a 3DS/2DS at like half the price of a Switch and still collect a decent library of games, including Virtual Console. Handhelds were a comfortable, cheaper alternative. But now they're gone, with limited supply.
