Is 80% killing bugs with the mech, 10% setting up base and defenses and 10% waiting for the research to be done.
There are different biomes focused on a elemental gimmic(acid, radiation, space aids, etc). And you move there to exploit the resources, and then move back to base to expand some more, and research more stuff to kill even more stuff.
Don't expect too much thinking, but I like the gameplay loop so far.
