random thought but i was thinking about how many numbers the yankees have retired, and it occurred to me that the whole concept of even retiring a number in their club kind of defeats the purpose of the tradition they have with not showing player last names on the jerseys.
would it not be better to just honor those players? and would it be retarded to have a team where every player wears a different number each game?
