>another non English non Latin non European root word that doesn't actually communicate anything to the English speaking player if they've never heard of this Indian cartoon character
You keep using the same kind of example

But the specific skill names that I'm mentioning are from a Japanese RPG series. Again, you might really like the skill names and have an emotional attachment to them. But Japanese games don't inherently have to have gibberish skill names. In fact, most of them don't. The skill names being cyphers/Sanskrit and trying to appear mystical/ancient is not really something I've seen before. What other series does it?
Once again, I'm not saying the skill names are bad. They aren't. It's flavor, it adds to the unique presentation and thematic integration of their many deep artistic influences. I get that. I just wish that there was some sort of connecting tissue between the game world, the player, and the terminology that's being thrown at them. That's all I wanted. But because it's not there, you have to study the fucking skill names on your own to commit their nuances to memory or else you're just reading the Help constantly to remind yourself what this shit means.
