The more I learn about Epoch the worse it gets. WTF are these set bonuses?

Guess it's good for farming and not bad for dungeons but completely useless for most raid encounters.

The initial big shield should be good for dungeons (assuming warriors and bears generate rage through it) but useless for raid, and the smite bonus will lead to retards to waste mana and failing to heal. The crit is nice I guess.

I'll try to dig more for raid gear but so far the 0.5 examples are underwhelming at best.
