The First Temple, Solomon’s Temple, never existed outside of the Bible and the Second was constructed by Persian Zoroastrian colonial occupiers. The model in this picture is based on a retro-historical fiction composed in Ptolemaic Alexandria about “Solomon’s Temple” that had supposedly existed almost a thousand years earlier than the Persian one that was standing when they wrote about it . The manner of its description and physical dimensions and so forth are done in the mode of Greek historians.

The actual first Jewish Temple (and it is arguable if that could even be considered Jewish) was built by Persian Zoroastrians in the 5th century BC. You can read the books of Ezra and Nehemiah in your Bible if you’d like to know more. A few hundred years later under the Greeks, Jews would concoct the story of Solomon and his Temple, which is what the thing in this picture is supposed to be. It’s pure fiction.

If our Jews ever do build a Temple, it would only be the second one— or perhaps even the first if you were strict about it actually being Jewish.

Not that prophecy or anything supernatural isn’t just bullshit anyway, of course.
