Actually buying a boost to get to play against masters+ players is a good way to improve significantly.
Playing at higher elo is akin to an hyperbolic time chamber, the value of each game when it comes to learning new things is a million times that of playing below silver, where you would, literally, never improve and most likely rot and become even worse at the game than you previously were.

It's not just streamer culture, it's social media in general. Everybody's comparing themselves to each others, leading to absurd standards and dissatisfaction of oneself in every compartiment of their lives. You're a bum if you don't make your first million by 20. You're an incel if you didn't fuck 100 women by 22. You failed at life if you're not a lawyer/doctor with a career, a house, a wife and kids by 25. Speedrun to your grave any%.
