the battery compartment was corroded so the illumination didnt work, and something inside the magnification dial was broken and it took two hands to adjust the zoom. leupold doesnt make replacement parts for them anymore, so they offered $1,000 off a brand new scope since that was the retail price of the CQ/T when it was new, and their lifetime warranty says if they cant fix it they'll either replace it with a new one or give you a coupon for MSRP towards a new scope. i ended up getting a Mark 4HD 2.5-10, which is pretty nice but currently sitting in the box unused
