It's a BO3. If he's the one getting giddy about beating you in a BO3, that means he acknowledges you are the better player subconsciously since that would mean he thinks it's an achievement. If he's not, I don't see any reason to get mad over losing a single set in an already volatile game. Just understand that it's always about who plays better consistently than who won the [1] set of the day and you won't get tilted over every loss.
