Same story you'll find regarding this specific motherboard/CPU combo (or other MOBOs of the same brand).
Worked perfectly fine, until it suddenly just refused to POST. Machine is obviously running (things light up/whir to life, etc), but nothing happens after that opening moment.
There's a two-digit LCD readout on the ASRock X870E Taichi, and it stays at [00]. [00] indicates either a CPU, RAM, or GFX issue, but my RAM is fine, and my 4090 has been a bloody saint compared to the rest of the tech I've had to put up with.
Flashed the BIOS with the latest version while the PC was off via Flashback, but no dice.

Haven't disassembled my AiO and unsocketed the CPU to check the damage yet (will do so later today), but this is a Known Thing.
If you go on the ASRock >subplebbit, you can't go two steps without seeing someone posting about their issues, and there's even a Megathread specifically detailing people's 9800X3D's getting fried by ASRock products:

Problem is, the other AMD X870E motherboards currently on the market are even MORE prone to having unrecoverable issues that you'd need to pray you never get, requiring a full breakdown/rebuild if you're unlucky.
Building a high-end machine in [current year] is such a goddamn minefield. It wasn't like this before. Not since the 80s/90s when everything was proprietary.

Nah, but I wouldn't be surprised if I saw something similar, once I can get to my CPU again later today.
>I got a 12700k
Don't buy anything related to Intel's 13th or 14th gen series. It is a complete coin-flip whether or not you'll lose the silicon lottery, and end up with a very expensive paper weight in just a few months.
AMD's other CPUs seem to be fine, it's just the 9800X3D that's the problem. Which massively sucks, since it's also the best CPU for running games released in the 2000s/2010s, due to its considerably expanded V-Cache.
