>You can kill the genestealer patriarch, severing the psychic link and ending the cult, or you can fall to them and join their side, betraying both of your allies and helping the tyranids absorb the planet. The final cutscene of the game is you welcoming the giant jaws of a hive tyrant as they close around you.
>If you didn't get infected and took down the Patriarch, you can willfully decide that the ideals and future proposed by the T'au and their Greater Good feel better to you than those of the Imperium, becoming the first assassin to defect to the T'au Empire. The final cutscene of the game is you postrating yourself before an ethereal and being welcomed as a new comrade by the fire caste commander you initially formed the truce with and that has been talking to you throughout the game.
>Or you can stay loyal to the Imperium, purge the remaining ranks of the retinue from infected cultists, and restore imperial order to the hive city and the rest of the planet's settlements. The T'au in this scenario either get caught offguard when a reinforcement ship arrives from the Imperium and their weakened forces get fucking rekt, or you can slip them a warning as a gesture of good faith and friendship and let them escape. The final scene is you returning to Terra, to your temple, and the grandmaster of the Assassinorum acknowledging a job well done before locking you back in to await for the next mission.
Obviously you'd get to pick which temple you want to be from, and they'd play like different classes, with lots of reactivity. Sniping sections and more firearms know-how for the Vindicare, more social encounters and alternate infiltration paths for a Callidus, unique problem solutions as a Culexus, and probably a whole alternate ending as an Eversor where you just go off the deep end and get everyone killed as you lose more and more of your patience and stability.
