How are you preparing to re-embark on another fresh new 300 hour space adventure tomorrow? Are you going Dogmatic this time for Lex Imperalis?

I'm not. The game wasn't finished enough to warrant my first playthrough and I'm definitely, 100% never going play through it again for 10 minutes of tacked on content. My biggest regret is thinking it was finished and playing it when I knew better from Kingmaker that Owlcat doesn't finish a game until 6 years after release.

My first playthrough was on default difficulty; this time I plan on trying out Daring on Grimdark mode and seeing if I can get the cheevo for completing the game without dying. If not then I'll try again next year when the 3rd DLC comes out.

Not that uncommon. Major threats will get what are called "execution forces" which is different temple assassins teaming up to take down one target. There are a few stories about them, though ironically, the vast majority of stories involving the Assassinorum are about the failures (since when they don't fail, usually the story ends right there).

Took him with me on my first run to see his "content". On all consecutive playthroughs either killed him outright, or gave him to Jimmy after returning to the ship. Game gives you no insentive to keep him longer than that unfortunately. He's a funny companion otherwise

Personally I've had the idea of an rpg with a plot I came up with some time ago.
>You play as an assassin sent to support an Inquisitor in an imperial planet close to the Damocles Gulf.

Sniping sections and more firearms know-how for the Vindicare, more social encounters and alternate infiltration paths for a Callidus, unique problem solutions as a Culexus, and probably a whole alternate ending as an Eversor where you just go off the deep end and get everyone killed as you lose more and more of your patience and stability.

Yes, and no. Sanctioned spyker and arbites are both backgrouds, so you can only be one or another. However. Starting with lvl 46 you can aquire a Psychic awakening talent, making you an unsanctioned psyker (which is closer to what harry is), but it is of course won't be as powerful as being a psyker from lvl 1

On my first playthrough, just wrapped up getting out of bdsm city, game is pretty cool
So far my only big complaint is the inconsistent difficulty, I'm breezing through normal (fuck playing owlcat games on hard), but several bosses get this thing where once they drop to certain hp thresholds they just get to act during your turn for no reason. Didn't wipe to this yet, but definitely a spike in frustration.
Glad we're keeping the tradition of modern CRPGs having a companion that is an absolute bastard but who's written too funny to exclude from the party.
Now I am left wishing for a full-on chaos RPG like this, which is never going to happen

Rogue Trader is nowhere near as frustrating on hard difficulties as Pathfinder games are. PF inflates the living fuck out of enemy stats to the point you need to cheese the game really hard to even keep up, much less beat challenge bosses. RT is legitimately just a matter of getting generally good with tactics and running coherent builds. You don't find those absurdly buffed enemies that just completely ruin your day. I also started on normal because I had the same experience as you, but kept increasing as the game advanced and I noticed it was too easy, and by the end of the game I was on hardest difficulty and it still wasn't a horrible experience.

Until the final boss, the final boss raped me and then didn't even call the morning after.

I did my first run with void shadows just under a year ago, I think. I played as a commissar that was shooting to be an inquisitor, so naturally went pretty dogmatic. Used xenos only when I needed them, discarded them when I didn't, same with Idira, being an unsanctioned psyker. Executed Kibellah when she broke the law and murdered the ship doctor, as much as it pained me, I wasn't giving out special treatment.. It was a satisfying run and I never felt out of place in terms of dialogue options.

I want to do a run that would justify have the more dubious companions like the xenos and idira, the idea being an iconoclast john everyman or a heretical run where the heresy is more like a slow descent into madness rather than outright "I'm the joker, baby"

But I know I'll probably just do dogmatic again.

After a couple character events involving her losing control of herself, then I had her in my party during a boss battle due to some veil degredation she caused we almost all died when she added a khorne demon to the shitshow we were already facing, that was more of a gameplay thing but it pissed me off enough to consider that the last straw.
