My mother died early too so I can relate to Shinji a lot. I guess we also share a lot of personality traits. The main difference is that I'm not part of some grand project, I just got unlucky, which is in some ways even more depressing. I wish I could have someone like Rei in my life. Getting some comfort, a reason to keep going. Maybe we'll meet in another life.
