My favorite WotC conspiracy theory is that they keep printing bug lords in standard at the worst possible times to get bug fans to buy commander cards, but they never want them to actually see play in non-meme formats so they make it basically impossible to build a functioning deck around the creature type(s). You can only play them on their own and the only tribal bonus you can realistically get will be from the tokens they make. I wonder how many designers were surprised to see Blex on mtgtop8.
