A lot of reasons, both good and dumb, some more personal than others, but a common one is would be "it's clearly just performative and not to improve the lore" since adding women to the process doesn't actually change the space marine corps in any positive meaningful way. They're still a dehumanizing super military that kidnaps and brainwashes the most physically adept humans into something that is essentially inhuman into being super soldiers who have nothing to look forward to beyond endless war, or on the off-chance they turn renegade being perpetually hunted for trying to turn traitor or joining something like Chaos where they trade one master for another.
That and frankly, it's not like the women that go through the space marine gland procedure would look any more different than the men, they'd still look like hypermasculine balding (or bishie in the case of the Blood Angels) freaks of nature, it's just a fe- in front of the male on their pronouns card. So really, doing such a change is equivalent to doing nothing imo. Space Marines will still be space marines, no-girls-allowed or not
